Chamtrul Rinpoche Lobsang Gyatso was born
in Golok in eastern Tibet and was recognized as the reincarnation of Pema third
Chamtrul Nangsel Dorje Tashi Choling leadership of Mardi monastery. At the age
of fourteen he took vows of renunciation lay under the guidance of his first
Guru, the Master Yeshe Wangchuk Rinpoche Dzogchen Naljor and
devoted to the study of the preliminary
practices (Ngondro) of Tummo and Dzogchen (Great Perfection). Later he studied
for many years both the Sutras and the Tantras under the supervision of his
most important teacher, Khenpo Jigme Rinpoche Puntsok, and was conferred the
title of Khenpo (Doctor of Buddhist Philosophy). In addition Rinpoche received
teachings from many other teachers qualified in India and Tibet and founded an
institute of Buddhist Philosophy at the Tashi Choling Mardi. Since 1996, he has
taught in various Buddhist centers, but, mainly, at the Nyingma Monastery in
Dharamsala Zilnon Kagye Ling in India where he lives. It also plays an intense
spreading the Dharma in many countries around the world, which is followed and
enjoyed by many disciples. "Teaching is my task in this life: wherever
someone ask me to teach, I am here" (Chamtrul Rinpoche).
